Community Center

Due to increased demand and continuing patronage, our library has tripled it's size and outgrown the available space at the Village Hall. The initial project for the Library / Community Center has now been redirected to revitalize our downtown area and restore a historic building, while maintaining a home-town feel for our local Library.  The new location for the Community Center will be the former Laundromat building on the corner of Hwy 12 & Hwy H.

With funds raised through donations and grants, this building will be remodeled and converted to suitable space.  Teh goal is to provide services through private donations.  If you can help either financially or lend a hand with the remodeling portion, it will be a great help to furher our project along.

The necessity for a Community Center originated with the 2003 Elk Mound Comprehensive Plan.  This plan was developed through community surveys and a number of plan commission and community meetings and discussions.  Throughout the years, and with a most recent push from our Library / Community Center Committee, we now have a plan in place - but WE NEED YOUR HELP to make it possible.

This Community Center is a positive addition to our Village.  The Library / Media Center portion of the building will be an extension of the Menomonie Library System, having various learning activities and computer availability. The main goal is to develop community enrichment and provide a vehicle for life-long learning.  The desire to create and sustain traditions through special events, outreach activities and facility rentals is evidenced through the community commitment and dedication outlined in the comprehensive plan.

A donation form is attached, please help us make this vision possible by contributing with your tax-deductible donation.

Thank You!
